"Safetix" Shift Leaves Hundreds Locked Out of Black Keys Show

www.ticketnews.com: Hundreds of fans were left outside of the first Black Keys’ show in five years, after being told their tickets were not valid when they were scanned for entry. Apparently, promoters had shifted to using Ticketmaster’s “Safetix” system – which features barcodes that rotate on a timer to disable the possibility of sending a screenshot of the tickets to friends or after a sale – and made the tickets non-transferrable.

This article seems to bring up an interesting point that I am happy to see one show doing. I think after seeing any commercial or advertisement for an entertainment event there is some form of the message that one should buy the tickets from the official dealer. This has been a message I’ve seen for so many years and I think that it is crazy that people still don’t understand the message. Yes, it is sad that a lot of people paid full price for these concert tickets only to be not let in but it goes to show that even if there are more handling fees or something going to the official purchaser is the best thing to do. The one sad thing about this article is how upset people were at the band for what seemed to be a ticket company issue. “Safetix” seems to have some problems to work out in its system and patrons should be upset at that and not the Black Keys.
