This article was super interesting and I’d love to hear some of this guy’s stories. Stunt work has always impressed me (I even remember getting excited about step-in time in Mary Poppins as a kid.) He made some very important points about safety and the fact that safety is paramount. Admittedly in our line of work, there aren’t many scenarios that we cause danger, but this is certainly something to keep in mind. Above all else comes safety, no matter what the cost is. Live theater can’t be cut together to make it look like a certain stunt took place or have stunt doubles, but we could end up working on movies and having to worry about safety and dynamic sets. I found it interesting what background the stunt man had as a wrestler, meaning he was very physical and then he got into performing and that sounds like a very interesting trajectory.
