I really appreciate this article because it sometimes feels like sound is this mysterious thing that goes under the radar. Personally I don't really know much about it, and any time I would ask my peers in high school what they were doing, I felt like I was being fed a bunch of science terms that didn't make any sense to me. With every other discipline, you can see the results from all of their work, but with sound its much more difficult. By definition, sound is supposed to go somewhat under the radar, so they don't get the recognition they deserve. I like when articles like this give sound designers the chance to shine, and help to explain what they're doing, because they are too often surrounded by a cloud of mystery. Stuff like this helps to lift the veil, and hopefully make sound a little bit less scary for high school freshmen who don't feel smart enough to do it, and also let people know the amount of work that goes into a show for sound, just like the amount of work everyone else puts in.
