In Focus: Tips, Tricks & Punts

ProSoundWeb: Working as a monitor engineer can be challenging, and I’ve had a fair share of hard lessons over the years with equipment (or lack thereof), facilities, artists, and more.

I love finding out cool ways in which the body works. It's interesting to know that everyone’s body functions a little differently and that no one is exactly alike. In the article, he talked about how everyone hears differently which in turn affects the way people will respond to what they hear. For example, for a while on social media there was a recording going around that resulted in heated debates between two groups of people different depending on what they heard in the recording. The groups were equally split in the sense that the people who heard one thing swore they only heard that and the people on the opposing side swore they heard something completely different. I find it admirable that he knew this information considering that he is an engineer and needs to know literal mechanics but also human mechanics. I think it's important to understand the body especially if your career revolves around it, like the ears would for a sound designer.
