Female leadership at CNN is changing the news game

News is a medium of communication that reaches people of different race, gender, nationality etc around the world. Because of this, it is very important that the news being transmitted be unbiased and representative of all the various stratas of the society.
This article essentially touches upon this aspect where CNN has been somewhat successful in establishing this, since its leadership comprises of women from different ages, race and nationalities, which gives the channel an opportunity to be sensitive to the news that they are showing to the world.
This is a very important development, since it represents two important things. For one, it shows that women are gaining the respect and recognition that they deserve. Also, the news that is being reported is not biased and is useful for everyone seeing it.
CNN is doing a great job of being representative of everyone that constitute a society by hiring and letting women lead the company in a way which will be useful to the world in the longer run.

Over the past few years, news has played a more and more important role in our media cycle. I had never felt like I should inherently not believe the news, however in the recent years, the rhetoric of fake news has become terrifyingly pervasive. It seems like every news station has been branded with some sort of trope. CNN being a very big target as a liberal fake news hub. Producing content that is similar and becomes repetitive is part of what makes it seem like certain networks are stuck in their ways. I think CNNs work to increase diversity within their company is a good effort towards creating more honest and representative media, which should be the primary focus when reporting news. Having more women in higher up positions gives opportunities to create initiatives and company wide policy which can improve the work of the company as a whole and hopefully influence other networks to do the same.
