Watching the election coverage of the election on ABC, I was amazed by the scale and vibrancy of the set they built just for the election coverage. It is more than clear that Seth Easter thought thoroughly about every single decision he made. Centered around a circular LED floor, every single desk feels like it is part of the next. This allowed ABC to cram so many people into one room without it feeling to cluttered while still feeling connected and cohesive. Last year, my high school did the iconic play "Our Town." For this show, we brought in a guest designer how had graduated from Kenyon with the director of the play. Living in New York, he owns and runs a scenic design company that specializes in the design of news sets. He has worked on everything from the 2008 Presidential Election sets for FOX to all of the Super Bowl desks a few years ago. Ever since then I have had a new found respect for news sets and their complexity.
