I worked for this company this summer and had no idea they did things like this. This is a very cool opportunity for young opera singers and definitely expresses the mission of Pittsburgh Festival Opera by supporting and encouraging young opera singers. The process sounds crazy rigorous and stressful, which is why what Rob was saying in the interview portion is so important for competitors. By staying relaxed and finding your own voice is the best way to present yourself and excel to victory in these kinds of competitions. If you are unable to put your best foot forward and be ultimately be natural about the whole ordeal, no one will truly see you and what you have to offer in the world of performance. It is also cool that Rob says singing is getting better and better these days because often I hear critiques about how every art form is becoming repetitive and less expressionate.
