It was so exciting reading this article about CMU alums. I love how CMU has such a great reputation in the professional world. Like the article said, It doesn't guarantee us a job but it certainly may open doors for us.To see so many CMU alums working and thriving gives me encouragement for my future. The show SMASH sounds like it will be a big hit. I hope I can find the time to watch it sometime. I can definitely relate to the alum that stated if he got through CMU, he felt like he could handle anything. It is a tough school but I know I will be well prepared for whatever life throws my way.
This article is extremely exciting to me. While I have always been told that CMU offers a programs that trains you for the real world and give you great inside connections, it's nice to finally see it in real life. I have actually had the honor of seeing Borle and Hilty perform (Borle in Legally Blonde and Hilty in Wicked) and also meet them face to face. I am honored to go to a school at which such spectacular artists have worked. The most true statement of this article was that while the connections made through CMU are endless and very influential, you also must work extremely hard to make it on your own.
I like reading articles about alumni. I enjoy hearing about how going to Carnegie Mellon University has affected them in their later life. I would be interested to know how fast it took them to realize that they all went to CMU. I am so excited to see this show.
This show is proof for just how successful CMU grads are. Even as a pre-college student I feel privileged that I am able to work in the same spaces as these and many other talented actors, actresses and technicians. It was a smart decision of the casting director's part because by casting so many CMU alumni he knew that this particular TV show would be a SMASH!
