This is a cool episode of Modern Marvels. It’s really interesting how similar the original tools look to their modern counterparts - the placement of the motor and how we use them. I am surprised that we haven't made many new improvements to a lot of these tools. The battery is the only really big change and that just started in the 90’s and only became really big when they started using lithium ion batteries with kinda just dates the show.
Watching the stanley worker testing the pneumatic nail gun busting out 40 staples bouncing around... Was I the only one waiting for him to miss? eh oh well, but anyways the fuel cell nail gun is an interesting concept that I was not familiar with but kind of seems like a give and take concept. give up the air compressor but how much are you then paying for the fuel cells? I especially appreciate the history background on the circ saw and through alcoholic compensation for a patent on one of the most versatile drill bits. Definitly an interesting historical perspective and as what says its particularly intriguing at how similar a majority of these original tools are to their modern day models. definitely entertaining to find out that common day drills are designed after an old colt
