i went to this last year and it was a lot of fun. It really brought together different generations of the CMU community. (i was a guest for Alumni relations). Also, it used to be a big tradition on campus, which has kind of fizzled out until last year. It'd be cool to make it back into the place to be.
I'd love to go to this (especially because of the part about traditional dress. I love costumes no matter the situation. :) ). Unfortunately, I have run crew. So it goes. Are there pictures from last year's event?
We had a Madrigal dinner in High School and the costume shop built all of the costumes which was really fun. It use to be a once a year thing, and then we alternated between that and the Nutcracker. Really, my point is I think we should do the nutcracker.
the madrigal dinner used to be a tradition here that went missing for a long time, until it's revival last year. anne witchner (from student affairs) was very pleased with how it went and is now seeking to make it bigger and better this year.
technically-speaking, it's an interesting mix of architectural and theatrical lighting design and some low-profile sound reinforcement.
