I didn't know you could go 1,000% over budget and not be murdered by the people footing the bill. It's interesting that he had never even seen the opera house that he is most known for, but also very sad at the same time. I don't know of anyone that can't tell you what that building looks like.

The Sydney Opera House is a beautiful structure on the outside. I cried when I saw it for the first time. The inside is not as impressive. It looked like they just... stopped. Regardless, it is one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, and it is just as gorgeous, if not more so, in person than in photographs.

The Sydney Opera House is an amazing building, and I think that it's pretty good inside as well. It does have a bit of that "unfinished" feel, but there's some pretty cool stuff going on in there as well. I took a tour of the building, and they told us the story of Utzon's departure. It's really sad that he created something so beautiful and iconic and never saw it himself.
