Where is the decent Christmas theatre?
guardian.co.uk: "So Christmas is once again lurching towards us with all the stealth of a Salvation Army band and as I look around at what the arts have to offer I'm left with the same nagging question I have every year – how do we manage to make art about Christmas so boring?"

I think Christmas, more than any other holiday, is so incredibly steeped in tradition that it makes it hard for people to leave the same familiar yuletide stories and explore something new for that holiday. That is also why nearly every Christmas song is simply a new rendition of a song that has been covered over and over again. For the Christmas holiday, people tend to stick with the traditions, even where theatre is included.
