Lowe's Is Giving Away Free Craftsman Power Tools With This 20V Battery Kit
www.slashgear.com: Whether you're a weekend DIY warrior or at work on full-scale home projects, a power tool system with shared, interchangeable batteries offers plenty of perks, including cost savings, the ability to swap tools as you're working, and reduced clutter in your workshop. It does require you to select one brand and stick with it, so be sure to select an ecosystem that meets all your needs.

It's always good for TD’s and people who run scene shops, or carpenters who bring their own tools to the job site to know where to find good deals. I don’t have much experience with craftsman powertools, and I have heard from a former coworker grievances about the brand, although I think that can be said about nearly every brand. No matter which brand you go with, someone somewhere has had a bad experience they will not let go of. I do know that I’ve used their hand tools such as ratchets and wrenches for automotive work in the past and it has been a largely pleasant experience, though the barrier for that tends to be much lower with hand tools, and the monetary repercussions lower. I do think it's interesting that this brand is offering a deal that is intended to sell you on their battery system, as that tends to be the biggest factor when deciding how to kit out your shop, professional or otherwise. Whichever brand you go with, you are somewhat stuck with that system, because it's often cheaper to continue to buy tools in the same system that you already have batteries for than it is to buy batteries and chargers every time you get a new tool, without even getting into the troublesome nature of 5 different brands all with different batteries and trying to manage all of the charging and battery needs that demands.
