I embarrassingly have never listened to the Beetlejuice soundtrack nor know much of the story besides the very basic premise. After just seeing the pictures in this article, I decided to do a little more research into the past productions and this specific one as well. I wasn’t necessarily shocked how much went into this from a design standpoint since any fantasy- horror show has elements that require a lot of effects, but I am still nevertheless impressed and amazed by the amount of work this team put in. I am also so amazed that this show is playing on Broadway for a third time. The fact that it keeps coming back and has a hit sequel released shows that it isn’t planning on going anywhere, and that this is a show for the history books.I truly hope it continues to succeed and that one day I’m able to see it.

This is technically the third time this show has returned to Broadway. I saw it two times now, once on Broadway prior to the second closing and once on tour. Personally I think they are beating a dead horse at this point. It should not be coming back like this, rather just stay on tour. I don't believe in revivals like this, and believe a good revival needs to let shows rest for at least 3 years prior to coming back, and this show just can’t seem to do that. The first show transfer was after only a few months, and now this one is about a year or two after it closed, and that is wayyyy too short to be right. I really think this space its occupies could have been used to introduce a new musical or a classic, such as a christmas run of christmas carol similar to how they did a short run of elf last year, this would feel a lot nicer even with it still being a revival. Or even just bringing in a new show to give that a shot rather then bringing back a show that had to close twice already due to lack of interest from the general public.

I’m super excited that Beetlejuice is getting a rerun as I’ve always wanted to see it! I love the Beetlejuice soundtrack, and I listened to it a lot throughout high school as inspiration for some of my writing for some of my original characters. I remember walking by when they were loading out the previous run and being very sad learning it was closing without me seeing it. I hope the rerun lives up to the original run and is good! I will most definitely be trying to go see it, I’m just not sure when, given that I don’t know if I’ll be back in town enough to see it. It’s okay though, I’ll find a way since I really do want to see this show live and hear the songs in person. I am sad that I will miss out on the original Beetlejuice actor, but I’m excited to see what Justin Collette will bring to the table.

I LOOOVE beetlejuice and I have still yet to see it on broadway. I had seen so many clips on tiktok of the show and I have even recently seen that Trisha Paytas is going to make an appearance in the show this year which is kind of bizarre to me. I have never listened to the beetlejuice soundtrack either and everything I know about it is just from tiktok clips and the original movie which is one of my all time favorite movies. I will say i will be disappointed that it won’t be the original actor, since he was really good, but im happy it is coming back to broadway so maybe I will finally have a chance to see it. So since i may finally be able to see it I have high hopes of it being just as good as the original airing of the show since it was so hyped up in the beginning.

I was confused reading this headline and had to double check whether or not this was actually Beetlejuice’s first return, and though it’s technically not, this is still INCREDIBLY exciting news! Beetlejuice has been an absolutely iconic, dominant cultural hit of this past decade. Everything about this musical I find to be hilariously dazzling, and production-wise especially. I never got to see the original Broadway version, but the touring production and even reputation alone has set Beetlejuice in stone as a favorite musical of mine. From the gothic and flashy costumes, to the incredible score and puppetry that seemingly comes out of nowhere, this musical has it all. This show is one I think could’ve gone on if not for the pandemic, so in such a short time, it’s hard to see this as a revival instead of a continuation. Regardless, I sincerely hope I have an opportunity to see it back on the Broadway stage this time, in all its glory.
