Meet Miranda Boodheshwar
CanvasRebel Magazine: My mom is an artist and majored in art therapy when she went to college, and I think that really informed the way she introduced me to the arts. Art was always used as an emotional release. Art was there to bring joy, to blow off steam, but never to make me feel bad.

It’s always awesome to see alumni from our program here at Carnegie Mellon highlighted, especially those from the Design and Production areas. I think I mentioned this in an earlier comment, but it is so inspirational to see people succeeding after they finish here and being able to go ‘huh, that might be me in a few years.’ Bouncing back into the article’s content itself, I think the last point Miranda makes in the interview is one of the most important, when she emphasizes the fact that much of society doesn’t highlight or recognize the efforts artisans across the United States make within their work every single day. This applies within the entertainment and theatre industries, but beyond that as well. There is often a certain somewhat negative opinion of those of us who choose to go into artistic industries, and yet we create so much wonder with our work.
