I often forget that the skills I learn for theatre are very applicable to other worlds such as sports as demonstrated by this article. Things like the halftime show in the NFL and all NHL games involve an incredible amount of AV and backstage work, but because it is not theatre or television, I often forget that there is so much effort that goes into that kind of work. Honestly, it is good to know that once I know skills for theatre, they are very transferable skills to other industries. I do not know whether or not I would actually do work for these other industries and leave theatre behind but it is good to keep my options open and I also love hockey so I mean, why not? At the end of the day, sports is another form of entertainment and while it is a completely different world from theatre, they also need people to make it interesting and entertaining which requires lots of work and technicians to make happen.
