PBS Kids was a core part of my childhood so it's interesting to learn the behind the scenes of the streaming network. Overall it's always a little disheartening to hear about workers going on strike because they're being treated unfairly, especially when you have a personal connection to the shows they're creating. The article did not go into much detail over the specific dealings between the workers and management but one thing that was mentioned was the shows not under the contract leading to the strikes. I had assumed that most if not all of the PBS shows were under the same basic contract that could then be added on to for show specific reasons. I also thought it was interesting that the non-striking shows signed a contract stating that they would not cross the picket line. In a time where workers are trying to get a company to sign a contract their peers show support by signing a contract.
