I personally don't watch a lot of mainstream sports so I forget the magnitude of influence they have on the entertainment industry. I think of the sports industry as news that people actually watch. They have big LED screens that show clips of their teams similar to a weatherman showing the weather. But as this article highlights, their complexes are so immense and filled with levels of technology that many people would love to have. The most impressive part is that all the technology is new and state of the art. Whereas the news industry seems to be on a slight decline as social media becomes more popular. All of this really shows how much money there is in the sports industry and how many people would rather gather around the TV and watch a sports game than watch the news.
I think ever since Covid there has been a massive wave of people doing solo content creation, and it is putting so much more media out into the public than would have been there just from large scale corporations. These high-end studios are the next step forward, and they are getting more and more complex with every day that passes. There is so much technology that could go into spaces like these, and I would love to see how people decide what is necessary versus what is too much in terms of production quality or budget. I think that most, if not every, sports franchise will end up having rooms like this for players or coaches to start making more content in, and as a sports fan I could tell you that I will fall for it and end up watching. I think that most franchises only have something to gain from making studios like this one, and that most other sports fans would be very excited to see more output coming from their favorite teams. The level of technology that we have gotten to makes rooms like this not feel like sci-fi, and there is still a long way to go in terms of innovation that will end up making these studios cooler and cooler.
