Pittsburgh Musical Theater Revives 'Dead the Musical'
onstagepittsburgh.com: While it often feels and seems like the ingenuity well runneth dry these days regarding original story ideas, the modern age is a proverbial goldmine for avant-garde re-imaginings of cult classics. Capitalizing on the high-camp and sadistic humor of the films, George Reinblatt’s Evil Dead: The Musical weaves the plots and characters from Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness into one delightfully over-the-top musical extravaganza.

Evil Dead the Musical has become Pittsburgh's halloween equivalent of the nutcracker and I LOVE IT. Despite my best efforts over the past two years I have lived in the city I have not been able to catch this show yet. Evil dead has been on my to watch show list forever and I hope I am actually able to see this production this year. I am curious both how an outdoor production and a remount works as both are concepts I am new to. I love that something that has started as a theater company listening to their audiences and trying something new has evolved into a tradition that the whole city can enjoy. Evil dead has spread to some of my non theater friends who have brought up seeing the show with me this year. I am so excited Pittsburgh gets to experience a spooky and creepy unique halloween tradition and hope to partake in it this year.
