As a child I never paid much attention to sporting events, but I would hear about the Olympics and see snippets of various events when my dad would watch them on the TV. However, I never really heard about the Paralympics until a few years ago. I thought it was unfair how the Paralympics never got as much coverage as the Olympics. This year I have sensed a change in that, with the Paralympics being discussed more frequently in casual conversations, more articles regarding the various athletes appearing on various news sites, and Paralympian Hunter Woodhall becoming a household name.

I’m glad that the closing ceremony was as star studded and grand as it was. The Paralympians deserved to be celebrated and recognized for their achievements in style. I didn’t watch the closing ceremonies for either the Olympics or the Paralympics, but the pictures in this article depict what appeared to be a well designed show, and something that would have been really cool to witness live.

On September 8th, the 2024 Paralympics closed in Paris. The Paralympics are always sort of forgotten about and overshadowed by the Olympics. However, both the opening and closing ceremonies were super cool. This year's Paralympics closing ceremony featured a lot of fireworks, fire, and an amazing lineup of music artists. I really enjoy watching these ceremonies because they are super cool and usually involve a lot of technical elements which I find super fascinating. I am not an athlete anymore, unfortunately, so if I ever wanted to be at an Olympics, I would simply try and design part of the ceremonies. I think that would be amazing and super fun. Some of the artists that performed this year were; Polo & Pan, Kavinsky, Etienne de Crecy, DJ Cassius, Busy P, Anetha, Breakbot & Irfane, DJ Falcon & DJ Alan Braxe, and Jean-Michel Jarre. Most of these were French artists, which is why the names are not familiar.

I'm sure we all remember the opening and closing ceremonies for this year's 2024 Olympics, so I was just as excited to see what they were going to do for the ceremonies regarding the paralympics, especially the closing one. The Closing Ceremony did not disappoint; it had this electrifying energy that celebrated with iconic French music. The concert was headlined by French electronic music superstars Jean-Michel Jarre, Martin Solveig, Kavinsky, and Busy P, among others. I have personally never listened to these musicians, but they gave such a spectacular performance, and the videos, the fireworks—everything about it was just so well done. The performance and ceremony as a whole had this moving performance by Cassius' Boombass, which is his first piece about the unfortunate death of his music partner. I think even though it was literally pouring rain like it does a lot in Europe, the celebration still was so fun to watch, and it was really a great ending to this year's Olympic/paralympic season, and on top of that, it had the to-die-for “French touch.

It is thrilling to know that the 2024 Paralympic games are getting more attention this year! The Paralympic games are so incredibly amazing, it's fascinating to think it's not just as popular as the Olympics anyway. Because not only are they performing in competitions at high levels, but they are doing it in unique ways that show That the sport can be for anyone. The photos shown in this article are ones of joy and excitement. Congratulations to all of the participants, and I hope they enjoyed their closing ceremony. Based on these pictures, it looks like it was a little wet outside! But everyone still looks to be having a lot of fun and is happy to be doing their crafts! From folding umbrellas, to rain guards, they were prepared for everything for this event. But most importantly, the smiles on everyone's faces, even with the rain, show just how joyous the Paralympics have been.
