As someone who had to learn all about the ear and how it functions throughout the two years of American Sign Language that I took in high school this was a rather interesting read. However, as someone who does not grasp the concepts of sound very easily, this was also an interesting read. The way in which things were explained in this article made it slightly easier to understand what the author was explaining. The way that everything about how our ears are structured can affect how we experience surround sound is something that I have personally never even thought of before but it makes perfect sense. Something else that I found intriguing was that twenty percent of the population apparently is affected by tinnitus. As one of the people in that twenty percent, I did not know that the number was so high.
