It's still hard to believe (at least for me) that states can now make abortion illegal, effectively making women second class citizens. To know that this unknown group is pushing to address this problem at the level of companies like Amazon and Disney is incredible news, and I hope they're successful. I'm only more amazed that the companies actually seem to be cooperating with the group - it comes in stark contrast to many articles on this blog reporting on failed unionization attempts, poor working conditions, fired staff, and the like. The "Reproductive Health Safety Hotline" is already a step in the right direction, but as someone who's not terribly knowledgeable in law, I have no idea how far these companies can go to protect their workers. It's good to know that the industry seems to be successfully working towards solutions for reproductive health for women, and this comes in conjunction with the article last week that touched on "My Body No Choice".
