Clear-Com system powers UAE National day celebrations

www.avinteractive.com: Nothing was stopping The P.A. People from supporting the 50th UAE National Day celebrations in Dubai in 2021 – not extended Covid lockdowns in its home city of Sydney and especially not any unforeseen communications challenges.

Wow, it’s always great to see theatre technology that we think just exists inside our bubble being used to a much larger and impressive scope, as noted in this article. I think it’s really impressive that they used a clear com system for this and were able to supply so many belt packs and things to ease the communication at the festival. I also think that it was rather interesting that they mentioned that with so many wireless belt packs, they didn’t have any reported dropouts or issues. This is a great nod to their technology and a great way to advertise this system for other event coordinators who are out there and might be wanting to use this system. I wonder if the festival had used the max number of two hundred wireless belt packs that the company states the system could support if there would be any reported dropouts or issues with the system.

I love a good comm system. It makes sense that having a solid communication system for such a large event can make a huge difference. Especially a wireless one! One of the productions I was an ASM for this summer, there was only wired headsets available. This opera was pretty large scale and had towering sets with multiple levels. When watching large set pieces exit the stage or keep an eye on flies coming in and out, there were times I just had to take the comm off, which was frustrating to the team. But this was still better than the other show I worked on where we did not have a comm system at all. There was a lot of technical terminology that went over my head while reading this article, but I’m always thankful for the people who understand the technology and make it available for the full team to use and benefit from.
