This is a little bit concerning that there is no definitive knowledge of whether or not a packet with a supermajority of employees signatures was indeed delivered to the management of this company. If that is the case, it is frustrating that they wouldn’t recognize them without action from the Labor Relations Board. This article could really use an interview with a couple employees who confirm that they did sign and were part of the petition or even better, a copy of the petition. Obviously the company is scared of a union as any company probably would be. The fact that they stated they are going to have to be forced to comply with the Union request by the federal government is concerning and I hope that there are penalties associated with an action like that. It’s also interesting that the article didn’t mention that they were joining a pre-existing union but rather simply being represented by SAG-AFSTRA directly.
