Black Keys Feel Real With STRIKE 1
LightSoundJournal.com: Embarking on their first full-scale tour since the pandemic, The Black Keys were eager to get back to the basics, eliminating all distractions, and turning out rock infused blues with the free-flowing spontaneity that has made the duo from Ohio one of the most powerful forces in popular music. Patrick Carney, the band’s drummer described the experience as “feeling like a band’s supposed to feel.”

As a fan of The Black Keys, it is really awesome to hear that they are back on tour. As a techie, it is even cooler to hear about how they put on their show behind the scenes. Lighting has not always been my strong point in theater tech, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t interest me. Chauvet Professional Strike 1s are similar to fixtures I have worked with in the past, but definitely not as high end. It’s really cool for me to hear that professionals in the field are going back to the basics and making wonderful art out of it. As a beginner in tech work during a revolutionary era for technology, it can be intimidating seeing new products come out and not knowing how to use them. It is refreshing to see even the big names in the industry use equipment that I will most likely use myself one day, and make an amazing, eye catching, show out of it for that matter.
