I’m very excited for the opening of LegoLand in Shenzhen. Many of the bigger IP-based theme parks have opened in other parts of China (Disneyland in Shanghai & Universal Studios in Beijing which just opened recently), so having the world's largest Legoland in Shenzhen means that the Greater Bay Area’s tourism industry will welcome a new surge of tourists. It also pulls to my attention how they are stressing on incorporating technology, innovative and interactive activities. I think this really shows that theme parks are no longer just about rides; it’s more about using technologies to create the most immersive experiences possible. Also, I like how they want to combine Chinese cultural elements and the unique characteristics of Shenzhen into the park. I think this is important because it’s a good way for international visitors to learn about China. Having interned in another theme park in China before, I cannot wait to see what they will bring to their shows and other forms of entertainment.
