Monitor Transitions: Helping Artists Make The Change From Wedges To IEMs
ProSoundWeb: If you’ve ever helped long-time stage wedge users make the transition to in-ear monitors, you know it can be a delicate and potentially frustrating process for all concerned. If they’ve had a bad experience – a distressingly common story – it can be hard to persuade them to try again.

I feel like this article is merely stating the obvious troubleshooting and support that you might give to a person that has reservations about how you might do something. They only give minimal pointers like ‘try and use a brand your artist likes’ and ‘show them how the cable goes over their ears’ which although is definitely a help, you would think this is expected of someone who is helping artists put on expensive equipment. When you are dealing with any artist, you are essentially dealing with a customer. You want this person to have a good experience with you. Explaining what you are doing and comforting their needs is exactly what needs to happen. But I guess the pointers are fine. Nothing too out of the ordinary. It really didn’t explain anything at all about why you would want to use in ear monitors over wedges but I guess it is a given that you want to if you clicked on this article.
