I have always wondered if there would be a theater without any wires stretched across the floor and wall in the future. I think GLP Creative Light products are one of the hints towards that kind of theater in the future. Although I am not sure how much each installations would cost, but I think it was interesting how CL1 and CL1 plus could not only be used in the theatrical production, but also in other various settings that would benefit people that are not necessarily related to theater (like garden parties). It’s also very cool that this can be utilized with smartphone app. This really makes me think that at some point in the future, production board would not include the huge light board or sound board anymore, but just a few smartphone-sized devices. I don’t know how many of these could be utilized without the networks being so tangled up, but I would love to see more theater implementing these new technologies and renovating their productions.
