Barcelona event draws crowds with on-site testing
www.avinteractive.com: A Barcelona nightclub has hosted an event with nearly 500 people present with no subsequent Covid-19 infections among those attending, thanks to rapid Covid-19 testing that can be completed within 15 minutes. Everyone present at the event was required to test negative immediately prior to entry to the club where alcohol was permitted.

“Draws crowds”... when’s the last time you heard that? For me, a long time ago, almost a year now probably. This is a really interesting thought; it was basically a nightclub experiment. With 500 people between 18-59 spending something around 2-3 hours dancing and listening to live music or a DJ. And there were no subsequent COVID infections due to the rapid testing that occurred immediately prior to entering the event. This obviously does not negate the need to be cautious and social distance and wear masks in our daily lives, but it is interesting to see what other countries and companies are doing to see how live events could move forward in the future. Honestly, I think it’s going to be strange for everyone the first few times we are able to actually go to events again. Imagine being in the same room as a bunch of people.. Or even without masks on (to clarify though, everyone was masked at the event in Barcelona)? It's weird to think about.
