Skil PWRCore 12 Brushless Jigsaw Review JS5833A-10
PTR: I’m a big fan of barrel grip jigsaws and when I saw the Skil PWRCore 12 Brushless Jigsaw came with that design, it went to the top of my priority list. We’ve been using it for a while now and it’s an impressive tool in the 12V class. However, there are a couple of quirks to know about before you pull the trigger.

Now this is a jigsaw that just might check all of the boxes for me. I do really prefer a barrel grip design when I am using a jigsaw, it feels more comfortable and it feels like I have far more control over the saw. I really like how this jigsaw has an on and off switch with a variable speed trigger, additionally, it has some sort of auto sensing mode that will increase the blade speed with the more pressure you put it under. It also has a dust blower which is really important to me, especially when working with tight lines and high precision. The base looks really sturdy especially with all of the motor mechanisms in line with the blade. Finally, the tool has a good look to it, the aesthetic design of a saw really tells me that the manufacturer put some thought into its form and function. As always, pro tools really does a great job at highlighting the pros and cons of the tool and offering a very reliable review.
