ScareHouse returns with Valentine’s Day debut of two new attractions and reopening of 'The Basement'
Features | Pittsburgh | Pittsburgh City Paper: Months have passed since local horror attraction ScareHouse had to postpone, and ultimately cancel, its Strip District-based Halloween happening called the Scream District. Now, ScareHouse has returned to the Strip District to terrorize Valentine’s Day with three new attractions.

This makes me so excited. First of all, the fact that this horror attraction had to get postponed is so sad, I definitely would’ve gone and will go this year for halloween if they are doing it again. I think the idea of having it on Valentine’s day is actually quite clever. I honestly feel like a lot of couples, people, and probably family will come out and try it. There aren’t really any Valentine’s day “attractions” and I think bringing a scary experience to Valentine’s day will attract lots of couples. The escape rooms sound really creepy and scary, and definitely one that no one will want to go in alone. There’s one called “stalked by a killer” which is way too real of an escape room and I know if I went in there I wouldn’t be able to walk alone ever again. Through a series of clues and secret passages you go through the escape room and try to solve a homicide mystery, which I think is very cool and intriguing.
This is really fun! I love haunted houses and theme parks. I have never been to an escape room, but it sounds like it would be fun and exciting! It is too bad that Scare house could not open their scream district in time for Halloween, but it’s kind of a fun idea to open a haunted house on Valentine’s Day since it can be a weird day for people who do not have a significant other. People who do not like Valentines Day would probably enjoy a distraction, such as a good scary time. The attractions include detailed sets and puzzles that take up to an hour to solve. Scarehouse renovated a whole building in the Strip District to create these attractions, but it took a lot longer than they thought it would take. I’d be really interested to check out one of the three attractions, Stalked by a Killer, data/bass, and The Basement, with some of my friends!
