Most young people who want to be theatre professionals when they grow aspire to work on Broadway. It's also what most of the general public thinks about when they think about a "successful" job in theatre. However, this article was a refreshing look at the other types of the theatre out there. Unsurprisingly a few of the other opportunities fall under what could be classified as commercial theatre where to goal is to make money not art like tours, theme parks, corporate event, and cruises. I was surprised that corporate America needs performers. Kid-friendly theatre also surprised me, because taking kids to see theatre is frowned upon but embracing the that the kids want to get up and make noises could make a very interesting challenge and environment for actors. Even though this article shared different opportunities for actors, technicians are automatically needed.
