Skil Sawsquatch is a Beastly 10-1/4″ Worm Drive Circular Saw
ToolGuyd: The new Skil Sawsquatch Skilsaw (model SPT70WM-22) is exactly what it sounds like – a beastly worm drive circular saw. The Sawsquatch is built around a monstrous 10-1/4″ blade size, which gives it huge cutting capacity. It can even cut through 4x lumber with just a single pass, and Skil says it’ll do it smoothly and cleanly too.

I would buy it just for the punny name. Asking a freshman to “Go get the sawsquatch” would be worth it. The price seems kind of high for a skil tool, but that may just be because of the size and weight, a worm drive motor of that size is not cheap. The other reason might be because the quality of the saw might really be significantly higher than other skil products that I have worked with, which would be a good thing. Skil’s circular saws have usually been a decent tool from what I remember, but anything else they make has always been of very low quality and functionality. Specifically I know a power drill of theirs that I once has was by far the worst drill that I have ever used. It was heavy, and expensive, but had no torque, speed or battery life to speak of. The article mentioned that Skil was trying to re-brand as a higher quality tool manufacturer. I hope they are actually making higher quality tools, and not just polishing dung.
