‘Kaboom!'

NYTimes.com: This Op-Doc video takes a look at Rich and Dee Gibson, a quirky couple who have built a career out of doing what they love: playing with fire.

As the owners of Rich’s Incredible Pyro, the couple spent more than 30 years traveling around the world planning explosions for air shows, before they semiretired in 2013.

Kaboom is right. It’s always cool and interesting to see historical reenactments, and feel the thunder of the cannon going off. In this case, you’ve got planes, and plenty of explosives that go boom. The couple has a cute story, of course skydiving is still on my list of things to do, but to go as far as they have, and do what they love to do, doesn’t that make life that much more interesting? There’s never a dull moment, I mean you’re planning out new routines and creating new ways to entertain the crowds. What I’m trying to figure out is if they have a set plan as they work on these shows which they probably do, but it seemed as if the shots were being called as they wanted it to go. It looked sort of like an organized mess in a way with how the shots were being called.
