Arduino v. Arduino
Hackaday: Arduino LLC is suing Arduino Srl (the Italian version of an LLC). Sounds confusing? It gets juicier. What follows is a summary of the situation as we learned it from this article at MakeMagazin.de (google translatrix)

It does not seem like the story of “Company founded by a small group a people that makes a product that everyone love is destroyed by infighting among the original group” is a new story. Frankly it would be a more interesting story to hear about how a group of people managed to found a company, and then amiably retired without a major lawsuit. The whole fight over the production rights of arduino hardware seems kind of silly, but I can understand how it’s a big deal to those involved. If the parent ardunio company wants to internationalize more and let the production of their “open source” hardware be controlled by the free market, rather than by a single Italian company that one of their founders is associated with, I think that would be better for Arduino as a whole, but understandably bad for the current production company. Ardunio is an incredibly useful product, and I really hope that we don’t see it go off the market because of this.
