Romola Garai Stars in Tom Stoppard’s ‘Indian Ink’
NYTimes.com: On a recent morning in the backyard of a Brooklyn coffee shop, the British actress Romola Garai apologized, sincerely and often — for repeating herself, for liking poetry, for criticizing sexism in the entertainment industry. “Sorry,” she said. “This is so boring.”

I've been a fan of Romola's work since I saw her in Atonement and later in Glorious 39. I enjoy people who pick characters who don't necessarily make you want to love them; Romola seems to understand that those characters, while good in their own right, aren't as interesting or fulfilling to create. I would be interested to see the production also for the design; from the pictures the NY Times includes, it seems as if there's a very interesting contrast between the deep blue of the lights and scenery in contrast to Romola's fair yellow appearance. I also find it kind of awesome that Romola spent such a long time doing period work, and that (as displayed in her performance in the Hour) she still does. She has played characters throughout the years that imbue that same sort of truth speaking her other characters have.
