I'm still having a hard time grasping the entirety of this concept, but its ingreaging to say the least. The article makes it sound like the inventors made two difference globe shaped objects that are going to be the main focus of an amusement attraction. I can't exactly believe in the truth when sitting watching a globe. I wonder how much can actually be done with a globe, projections, and lighting. At first I actually thought this was one of those circus cages where a motorcyclist would drive inside the globe. I really want to see this in action to get a deeper understanding of what its meant to be. I could see the tickets for this shoe being pretty expensive for what you get.

I've seen a few works of art in dome settings, but nothing on the scale of what Rick is doing. I really like what I see him doing and I hope that I can see more of that sort of thing in the future. I really like the ideas that Rick has about how technology can affect art and how artiest can use technology. To me technology is only as cool or meaningful as what we use it for. And the art we make is only as meaningful as the technology that we choose to make it with. So I don't think that anything in a dome is "good" but I do think that there are a lot of possibility for amazing art using projections on domes.

I think immersive film is awesome. Like when you go to a planetarium, it's the surrounding experience that makes it. I kept thinking about how a movie is a vicarious experience but when something like this is surrounding you, you become the experience. I do agree that with all of this modern technology, people are becoming jaded. It's actually kind of scary. Things that used to amaze us are now not as amazing as they once could have been. Everyone assumes that it was just done by modern technology. Yes, it's easier to make dreams come true, but then dreams won't be as dream like because, well, it will be possible.

I think this immersive film is just the stepping stone for amazing and technologically advanced environments. This is something that I am really interested in. I think that smart and immersive environments is the way of the future for amusement parks, theater, and other forms of live entertainment. People love to feel like to be transported to worlds that they thought only possible in their dreams. If technology can do that, then I think entertainment designers shouldn't hesitate to start using technology in new ways than ever before.
