SAG-AFTRA Leader on Staff Exits: 'I Told You So'

Im actually rather surprised by all of this. I think it's wonderful that these SAG-AFTRA staff members where given the option to leave, as opposed to just being let go without having a say in it. While I'm sure it is still an unfortunate situation for some of the departing employees, I hope that none of them felt obligated to leave. This article does not clearly describe what Anne-Marie Johnson's beef with the union is. I'm sure there are some negative aspects to the merger, especially for former SAG members (simply because SAG seemed to be a larger, more superior union), but I do agree with Ned Vaughn that she shouldn't be overlooking the positive aspects that this merger will bring in the longrun. By letting employees voluntary leave the company, the union is saving money by reducing redundancy in operating costs but doing so in a way that is not as damaging to its employees as simply dropping 100 of them on the street.
