J-O-B PM

1812 Productions, Philadelphia’s All-Comedy theatre company, seeks a knowledgeable and hands-on Production Manager to manage and oversee all technical and production operations for 1812’s four-show season and all other annual programming.
The Production Manager will report directly to Managing Director, and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • working as a part of the management team in creation of production
    budgets
  • maintaining annual production budgets
  • creating and maintaining all production calendars
  • hiring, contracting and managing all technical staff and interns
  • coordinating schedules with rental venue contacts
  • maintenance and rental of production equipment
  • running production meetings and facilitating support of all designers
  • purchasing of equipment, supplies and rentals














Ideal candidates will be excellent written and verbal communicators, be willing to work in a collaborative environment, have a positive outlook and strong followthrough skills, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends; must also have strong computer skills, a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance;
practical technical theatre experience a plus.
This is a full-time staff position with benefits; start date early-to-mid November.

Great to see that this job post actually lists responsibilities which are related to Production Management unlike some other posts that I have seen recently where they mention that the PM might be required to assist with media or lighting or carry out tasks which would usually fall under the Project Manager.

What really caught my attention however is this sentence, "Please send cover letter, resume with three references and salary requirements". They are asking the candidates for salary requirements??? wow.. I wonder how potential candidates addressed this when applying.
