SHOOTonline: The 16th annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards evening was held before a packed house at the Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday evening (9/30), with director Werner Herzog as guest speaker. Writer/director Eli Roth, who couldn't make it in person, sent a video message. Ten short movies shot by members of the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) who are not yet designated as Directors of Photography were screened. All were given awards for their distinguished work, with Canon USA giving each one of them a C300 camera to use for six months.
