CAMO Marksman Pro X1 Hidden Deck Fastening System Preview
Professional tool reviews for the average Joe: National Nail Corp. revealed its latest tool this week, Marksman Pro-X1. We reviewed the original CAMO Marksman Pro and really loved how quick and easy it was to set up and use on decking. One thing we wanted was for it to allow for thinner spacing between boards. Looks like National Nail was listening.

This does look like it would make life relatively easier when it comes to decking but honestly dont see how this would really help unless we actually needed to make a properly spaced deck. i have to say that this seems like an problem solver for those who can not angle a screw on their own and/or suffer from the over powering of screws resulting in driving the screw all the way through the wood.
If we did decking with actual planks not strips of ply or luaun this would be an amazing tool. I would like to see if it works on the thickness of veneer that we typically work with. Integrated spacing technology is awesome and I really want this for my home tool box. We might be able to reverse engineer this to make veneer installation easier. The selection of fasteners is also nice even if it is proprietary.
I agree with Luke> This product certainly streamlines and removes a good deal of human from the install of deck planks. It allows you to be lazy, without being sloppy, which is kinda nice I suppose, or at least combats the use unskilled labor and degree of error and time associated with it.
This thing is amazing how it work and makes most people pros at making there decks look great. This would work great in theater if someone did not want to have any visible fasteners but it would make the our some more work. The screw that they also just replaced is great with how small the head is for the driver but the thing that I question is the head of the screw big enough to pull out from the work if it was to see an up force one it. I hope that this is a successful tool for the creators of it since it is so great and it seems that they are doing ok if they had made changes to it to make it better.
