Scene Studio Supervisor (Asst. Faculty
Associate)
The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s
Department of Theatre and Drama is a collaborative community of artists
and scholars – faculty staff and students - aiming to achieve the
highest level of excellence in their teaching, learning, research,
creative endeavors and outreach to the community and state. We
are looking for an energetic and experienced candidate to provide instruction
and supervise our Scene Studio (Shop). Working in close coordination with
the Theatre Technology Program Head on all pedagogical matters, the Scene
Studio Supervisor will mentor MFA graduate and advanced undergraduate students
in their assigned roles as Technical Director, Assistant Technical Director,
Master Carpenter, Props Master, and/or Scenic Charge Artist. This
mentorship role is an invaluable instruction mechanism for professional MFA
students and our dedicated undergraduate population. Under the direct
supervision of the Director of Theatre Production, the Scene Shop Supervisor
works in coordination with the Production Manager, Costume Studio Supervisor,
and Lighting/Sound Studio Supervisor to produce all shows in the Department’s
University Theatre season.
