Booths widely interpret ‘As Seen On TV’ theme
The Tartan Online: The theme of this year’s Spring Carnival, “As Seen On TV,” allowed for a number of creative individual booth themes, but also provided some challenges for certain organizations. Instead of basing booths on cheesy infomercials, as the theme might suggest, most groups chose television shows for their booth themes.

This year was my first booth experience, and I'm still not sure how I felt about it. Of course, a large part of that is the fact that I am (we all are) spoiled with being around setups that are built really well. This is due to the fact that we are also surrounded by people who came here specifically to learn how to build things really well. For soroities and fraternities, it's more for fun, so there's less worry about standards and certain factors (such as rain) often aren't considered. I also agree that the topic was very loosely interpreted. When walking through, I didn't even think about booths supposed to be based on television infomercials. I figured the theme meant build in honor of a show that airs on TV - but I suppose I was wrong.
