CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: "For decades, Congo and other countries have turned the heart of Africa, rich with mineral resources, into an off-and-on war zone ruled by greed and ethnic hatred.
It was in this unstable corner of the world where playwright Lynn Nottage found the inspiration for her new play 'Ruined,' which is making its world premiere at the Goodman Theatre under the direction of Kate Whoriskey."

What an interesting topic to explore. There are quite a few plays about war and suffering but I haven't seen or heard of many depicting the aftermath of rape from the victims' perspectives. I think that this might even prove to be a feminist play, telling a story from a woman's view about an act that occurred because of a man.
