`Blasted' Goes Beyond Shock Value; Wharton's `Moon':
Bloomberg.com: Arts and Culture: "The British playwright Sarah Kane, as troubled as a soul can be, wrote five plays before committing suicide in 1999 at age 28. Her first, ``Blasted,'' is having its American premiere at Soho Rep in New York."

I feel like there are a lot of plays coming out that push the audience's comfort zone. It's not necessarily because the playwright wants to do that, but the playwrights are conveying their pent up emotions and feelings through their writings. In this example, we see the playwright was incredibly troubled. Her works reflect that.
It is true that all I hear about this show is how shocking it is. Great, awesome. What actually happens? Its great to see an article address that, but it sounds like there is no plot to the play. I wonder if that is true, or if the writer just unfairly biased the article against the play.
