George W. George - Alfred Kinsey: A Love Story

New York Times: "For a time 43 years ago, George W. George was the king of West 45th Street, simultaneously producing two hit Broadway shows there: one on the north side of the road, one a few steps away on the south. Now he has returned as, if you will, the commissioner of West 43rd, making a much smaller splash but setting a heartening example while doing it."

In a world today where it so often seems to be about the money and not the show, it is nice to read a piece about a man who is simply devoted to the theatre, someone who has an idea and pursues it without real consideration of the possible flop. Maybe it is because he has worked in the theater for so long, but more people should be willing to go "hey I have an idea, I'm gonna put on this show" and not worry bout the outcome, I just want to create it.
