Going deep

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "For its next production, Quantum Theatre is going off the deep end. The cast of 'Therese Raquin' will descend into the depths of a long-empty swimming pool in the Braddock Carnegie Library to perform Emile Zola's tale of obsession and desire on the rust-stained white ceramic tile floor of this once-vibrant public amenity."

i really really want to see this show. i love the concept behind it, i love the entire idea of putting theatre in weird public spaces that people wouldn't usually think of. it brings such an interesting twist to the life of the play and the way the audience is able to relate... it's on my calendar and i hope to be able to find more interesting shows such as this going on in the area and possibly get involved with such for the future summers? so cool and so innovative.

This is really exciting. I remember hearing about how when Stephen Sondheim first wrote 'The Frogs' it was performed in a swimming pool (including water). It also reminds me of the singers on the street in Manhattan. Some shows need specific spaces.
