www.slashgear.com: While Ryobi is perhaps best known for making powerful but easy-to-use tools for the home and yard, the brand's product line stretches well beyond things like blowers, mowers, and drivers. In fact, at this point in its history, there are not many tools that the Techtronic Industries-owned company doesn't make. That includes more specialized devices like sanders and grinders.

I wanted to read this one, because I have been curious about Ryobi for a while now. I have heard many people give them flak for being cheap tools. I haven’t actually gotten to use them much before, so I can’t speak to their quality, but a cheap tool is only a problem if its cost savings is achieved through cutting corners or sacrificing quality of the product. I feel as though in the past couple years I’ve been hearing more and more good things about the brand and based on these reviews, I would definitely be interested in giving them a shot though, because they have such a robust eco system that spans a very wide range of applications. I think this is especially helpful in theatre, especially in prop shops, where having more niche tools would make more financial sense, such as the die grinder in the article, that you may be more likely to consider purchasing with the lower price tag, where you may have passed on it from another more expensive brand.
