Quantum Theatre’s Karla Boos embarks on final voyage with The Tempest

Pittsburgh City Paper | News, Dining, Music, Best Of, Arts, Film: In the blazing July afternoon sun, Karla Boos perches on a set of wooden risers as a gaggle of actors assembles on the blue circular stage, the rust-covered exterior of Carrie Blast Furnaces looming behind her. It’s a fitting location for Boos’ final production as artistic director of Quantum Theatre, a stage at the end of a long, winding road, nestled against an unmistakable symbol of Pittsburgh’s industrial history.
