This was a fascinating and thought provoking read. While I don’t necessarily agree with all the points made by everyone quoted in the article, the breadth and quality of the remarks quoted and discussed was incredible. I think the discussion about “risk capital” and “change capital” was exceptionally interesting, and the excerpts seemed to be of a highly researched and intense nature. The idea that it takes a lot of money to enact structural change is one that I don’t see discussed a lot, especially in progressive spaces that focus more on dreaming and less on doing. I really like this kind of boots on the ground, roll up your sleeves and do it mentality. Additionally, while I feel like my younger self would brush off a “Forum on Governance” as boring and superfluous, I’ve come to understand that sitting down and talking about these kinds of things in a professional setting and with the utmost level of attentiveness from all parties is the only way we can unite our efforts to enact positive change.
